I'd have to say the ending was quite harsh to Ezio. I *do* find it odd that Minerva thinks that Ezio's job is done, but Ezio still has to go do some baby-making so the memory she so cavalierly planting as a warning to Desmond actually gets there. Any kids Ezio may have spawned prior to it would not have the genetics for a memory that hasn't happened yet.
